2023 General Elections, The Nigerian Youth And The Questions Of The Moment.

[caption id="attachment_572" align="aligncenter" width="300"]Yusuf Salisu Buhari Yusuf Salisu Buhari[/caption]

2023 General Elections, The Nigerian Youth And The Questions Of The Moment.

Our votes remain the most powerful tool available to us, as citizens of a democratic nation, to choose our leaders. It is a right and not a privilege. A vote is defined as a formal indication of a choice between two or more candidates, or courses of action, expressed typically through a ballot or a show of hands. Rev. Raphael Warnock defines a vote as a kind of prayer about the kind of world you want to live in.

So voting is a means of freely expressing a choice about how we want to live our lives. But sometimes, it’s very difficult to arrive at a choice. There are so many things to consider. Sadly, what most people do is align with politically familiar people or organizations under the impression that they have their best interests at heart. This is how it has been in the last six times we have gone to the polls in the past 24 years in Nigeria. During this period, Nigerians have been so traumatized by outright lies and deception. In the process, a whole new “upside-down” culture has enveloped us – a culture completely alien from that known to our fore fathers.

I believe it is time to stop and have a rethink about how we have voted or surrendered our votes in the past. I also believe it is time we get more involved in the political process by knowing our country better, the issues clearer, and digging deeper into the candidates and their political parties, since it is clearer to us now that a good government translates to a better Nigeria for all of us.

As we prepare to elect the next President of our great nation, it is imperative for us to ask some pertinent questions. The answers to these questions are strong indicators of how our common resources will be managed by a candidate, should he emerge President. A wasteful campaign will produce a wasteful government and a none truthful campaign will be a none truthful government. It is also equally important for the masses to have a wishlist for the political parties and not just ask “what is in it for us” ie. their manifestoes. This is the only way to raise the level of debate and differentiate leaders who empathize with the masses.

One. We should start with assessing the character and integrity of the candidates (Presidential Candidates and Vice Presidential Candidates). What were the circumstances that determined their emergence as party flag bearers? How have they conducted themselves during the campaign period?

Some of the candidates are demanding that ruling Nigeria is a birthright, others are whipping up very dangerous religious and tribal sentiments. Still some have floated subsidiary political parties and proposed concepts that they themselves have never practiced, despite personal wealth and unhindered access to finance all their lives. They are, in truth, strong and active antithesis of the concepts they propose. We have witnessed these crop of politicians utilize public resources to further their personal and selfish agenda. Be on the look out for these contradictions.

Prince Adewole Adebayo, the Presidential Candidate of the SDP, has mentioned many times that we must not believe anyone who claims to be representing the interest of a tribe, region or religion. Without a doubt, we must all have personal stories where we have seen none locals of our communities or regions who have made great contributions and accomplishments to their host communities; in government, as spouses of locals, in manufacturing, in education, etc.

Nigeria has gone beyond these very shallow segregative divides. The youth of Nigeria are more united as a bloc, in creativity, drive, innovation and hunger for success and development than they are with the elders in their respective regions. In fact, the progress and achievements of the youth of this country has been in spite of the corruption and aggression of government towards their businesses and other activities.

Two. We should also ask: How well do they understand the issues and what practical approach do they propose towards the resolution of our challenges? We must also consider performance and ideologies of the political parties that they belong to.

SDP’s vision to bring about a new Nigeria of our dreams has its foundation and framework based on Chapter 2 of the Nigerian Constitution, which dictates that sovereignty belongs to the people and that the primary purpose of government is to cater for the welfare and security of the people, and Chapter 4 of the Nigerian Constitution, which dictates the rights and liberties of the citizens, and emphasizes on the equalities of citizenship.

SDP’s main objective is to eradicate poverty and to secure our country. At the end of the day, it all comes down to provision of jobs or economic inclusion, shelter for all, healthcare for all, nutrition or food for all, access to electricity for all and security for all. These are essentially the key indicators for the determination of multi-dimensional poverty. At the moment, these indicators for Nigeria are very poor. We will reverse this trend if given the opportunity.

Three. Another assessment criteria should be the quality of their associates and sponsors. What are their antecedents and inclinations? Why is this important? Because in Nigeria, the course of power is highly influenced by the character of the President, his family and domestic support, and the people that have access to the President. If these circles are genuinely interested in Nigeria, then power will work for Nigeria. But if these circles are more interested in themselves, then power will work for them only.

At this point, it is pertinent to remember that due to the frequent changing of political parties by these old politicians while chasing their selfish interests, they are now one and the same. That means the politicians of any of these political parties will have equal access to power should any one of them emerge as President. This also explains why even after power has moved from one political party to another, and from person to person, they still share a strong commonality with poor management of Nigeria and an entitlement mentality to our common wealth.

Over the past 24 years, we have became a country in which war veterans who risked their lives and limbs to protect us and secure our peace are treated without the dignity and respect they deserve; a country in which our traditional rulers who mobilized their people and fought the colonial masters, are reduced to beggars, unable to serve their people; a country in which our civil leaders (Ministries, Departments and Agencies) have become so corrupt, partnering with equally corrupt bankers to place funds in fixed deposits while the services they are supposed to render go unfunded.

We are now a country in which public servants award contracts to themselves and cannot, in good conscience, supervise them to proper execution; a country in which “foriegn investors” means foriegn partnership with those in power for over invoicing and round tripping; a country in which the welfare of those responsible for shaping the youth and the future is not a government priority; and a country in which the reporting of truth is compromised because our journalists do not have adequate job security as such their welfare is now dependent on how well they please the news makers.

We have a choice to either uphold this corrupt system or stand up for a Nigeria where accountability, equity and justice is entrenched; these are the choices before us. The coming elections should be about building a better society for all, not a turn by turn looting game for a few elites. Hence, we must demand a progressive and value adding consensus from our leaders.

As Nigerians, we say it’s time for intelligence and capacity in service, integrity in leadership, respect for Nigerians by their leaders and a practical approach to resolving our challenges. The SDP has demonstrated that it has the most intelligent team on the ballot. We make bold to say that SDP has a clean leadership devoid of scams and suspicions and we have the cleanest team in the elections. SDP has demonstrated that it respects Nigeria and Nigerians the most by keeping its campaign local and respecting Nigerian Institutions. Furthermore, drawing inspiration from Chapter Two of the Nigerian Constitution, SDP has demonstrated that it has the most practical approach to resolving our challenges.

To the youth of Nigeria, who keep saying it is time for the youth to take charge, know that the SDP has the most youthful team on the ballot – both Presidential and Vice Presidential Candidates are 51 years old. The work force of organizations that manage elections has a youth majority. Agencies that provide security for elections also have youth majority. Also, within those eligible to vote in the forth coming elections, the youth have a majority. This means that the outcome, as well as the conduct and integrity of the elections, rests in the hands of the youth. There is no excuse for the Nigerian youth to not change the course of Nigeria and vote in a brighter future for themselves. We must vote in people who see us as partners and equals, not people who can not even relate to us.

While yearning for a brighter future, we must know by now that these failed politicians do not have the capacity and will to produce a brighter future for us. We must fight and win the reins of power away from them to guarantee our brighter future. Based on the conduct of these failed politicians over the past 24 years, we must now know that they cannot be trusted. Moreover, we must know that we cannot solve our challenges using the same people that created them in the first place.

So do not surrender or waste your votes on failed politicians and their empty promises. Vote for a break away from failed and questionable politicians. Vote for a new beginning. Vote for SDP. Vote for the white horse. Our future and the future of our children depend on the choice we make in this General Elections.

Make sure your vote counts.

SDP VP Candidate

Author, Omojuwa Fancies Adenuga’s Story for Great Movie

Author, Omojuwa Fancies Adenuga’s Story for Great Movie

Digital media expert and author, JJ Omojuwa, has stated that the grass-to-grace story of a mercurial businessman, philanthropist, and one of Africa’s richest men, Dr. Mike Adeniyi Adenuga Jr, is a blockbuster movie waiting to be produced. From oil and gas to telecoms, philanthropy, and banking, Adenuga, has carved a niche for himself.

He has demonstrated a superior model of doing business with his entrepreneurial grit and has become a source of inspiration to many Africans. In a series of tweets last Monday evening, Omojuwa responded to a thread of tweets by another Twitter user, Tunde Omotoye (@TundeTASH), about how Adenuga rose from being a struggling migrant taxi driver to becoming one of Africa’s richest men.

Omotoye wrote on Twitter: “Read the story of one of the billionaires in Africa and never knew he drove a taxi in New York to pay for his tuition. There’s always this tenacity with immigrants, but loved how he looked for opportunities to add value when he returned home.

And it all paid off. He was even a security guard as well? You have to give it to Mike Adenuga. Honestly, I never knew this side of him. But I knew someone who could build a telecoms giant like Globacom and other conglomerates has to be a real ‘Bull’ in nature.”

Omojuwa acknowledged that while much had been written about Adenuga’s net worth, so little is really known about him and what he’s truly worth. He, therefore, suggested that the best way to celebrate him and further inspire Nigerians is a movie focusing on the businesses he built and the impact he made through them.

“Inspiring thread,” Omojuwa wrote. “Mike Adenuga’s story would make for a great movie. And whatever Forbes says he is worth, multiply by 5”.

Omojuwa also noted that the Forbes Model for determining the rich list may not necessarily work for Africa because wealth is built differently. Recall that in April 2022, Forbes released its annual World’s Billionaires List for 2022. This year’s list ranks 2,668 billionaires worldwide, with Nigeria’s Aliko Dangote and Mike Adenuga ranked 1st and 2nd richest Africans respectively.

According to him, “The Forbes model is overly reliant on stocks and hardly, if ever, moderate their calculations with debts, just stocks as the primary and often times only arbiter. Wealth in Africa plays differently. They need to have the prevailing culture and norms moderate their strategy.”

It now behooves a Nigerian filmmaker to act on Omojuwa’s suggestion and create a movie on Adenuga’s life and career journey.

PRAYER VS PVC , Which does Nigerians truly need in 2023

PRAYER VS PVC , Which does Nigerians truly need in 2023 The Convener of the June 12 fast, *PROPHET ISAIAH WEALTH*, in an interview session held on the 5th day of June 2022, during a live Sunday service, held at the Gospel Pillars International Church auditorium at Plot 11c, Kudirat Abiola Way, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos State, answered some questions on the above subject. Question: You said you saw Nigerians celebrating in 2023, how can we be sure about what you saw?
Answer: When a person speaks, it is important to check the pedigree of that person. Again and again, I have said things about Nations, Individuals, and Organizations, which you can find on YouTube, and they have all come to pass as I have said them. The credibility of a prophecy is based on the pedigree of the prophet. My prophecies are out there and everyone can research them and see them for themselves. Question: Many people ask, “Why fast and pray for Nigeria? We should be talking about PVC, not fasting”, how do you respond Sir? Answer: PVC is important because we need to vote but, we cannot deny the importance of fasting and prayer. The bible says in 2 Chronicles 7:14, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land”. I don’t know of other people but, we are called by the name of God; but the way to get God to respond is for us to humble ourselves and pray and seek His face, and then He said, He will heal our land. I only know one person that will heal our land, and I can only reach him through fasting and prayer. Question: What do you say to a person who says we should not be gathering about prayer and argues that it is a futile effort? Answer: I hear people talk about developed nations, that they are not fasting and praying, but that is not true. A lot of the developed nations that we see today such as Britain, the United States of America, etc., have gone through their fasting and prayer season, and they still do. If you research about the U.S, there are a lot of Prayer Movements, and you would see a whole stadium full of people praying. There are a lot of prayer houses and prayer goes on 24/7 in the U.S. There are also prayer groups that pray 24hours every day for the nation. How did the United States get to where it is now? How did Britain and other developed nations get to where they are now? I did a little research about the importance of prayer and I want to share. In the history of America, on May 24th, 1774, Thomas Jefferson, who was the third president of the nation, drafted a resolution for a day of fasting. We see America developed now, we don’t know its foundation. Their foundation was fasting and prayer. When raids from France and Spain increased, President Ben Franklin of the United States proposed a general fast which was approved by Pennsylvania’s President and Council, and was published in Pennsylvania’s gazette on 12th December 1747. On April 15, 1775, just four days before the battle of Lexington, the Massachusetts Provincial Congress declared the 11th of May to be set as a Day of Public Humiliation and Fasting and Prayer to confess sins, to implore forgiveness for their transgression. Watch Video
On May 15th, 1776, General George Washington ordered the continental congress, having ordered Friday the 17th instant, as a day of fasting, humiliation, and prayer. During the threatening war with France, President John Adams, declared a day of fasting, on March 23rd, 1798, and also on March 6th, 1799. On July 3rd, 1849, during the cholera epidemic, President Taylor proclaimed the first Friday in August to be observed throughout the United States as a day of fasting, humiliation, and prayer. On December 14th, 1860, President Jamesissued a proclamation of the National Day of humiliation, fasting, and prayer. On August 12th, 1861, after the Union lost the battle of Bull Run, President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed the last Thursday in September as a day of humiliation, prayer, and fasting for all the people of the Nation. On March 30th, 1863, President Abraham Lincoln, proclaimed the National day of humiliation, fasting, and prayer, during World War II, these were his words “It behooves us to humble ourselves before the offended Power, to confess our national sins”. In 1952, President Truman, made a National day of prayer, an annual observant stating, “In times of national crises, when we are striving to strengthen the foundation of peace, we stand in need of divine support”. Then, when we talk about Britain, we remember the words of the Queen of England when she said “I fear the prayers of John Knox more than the army of Scotland”.
So, we see that all these nations depended on prayer, they are now grown up, and they have forsaken the ways of their fathers. With the way they are today, if America practiced “gay” or was prayerless in 1770, it would not be where it is today. If Britain was prayerless in 1780, it will not be where they are today. We are now where they were and we want to copy where they are. When they were in the season that we currently are, they fasted and prayed until they came to where they are now. So, we must remember that America and Europe built on a strong foundation of prayer and fasting. How about Israel, which is one of the most developed nations in the world today, we see from the scriptures in 2nd Chronicles 20:20, how they were faced with war and they fasted and prayed, and then the prophet prophesied. And, the prophet said to them that “The Lord said this battle is mine, go with praise and worship”. The Israelites went with praise and worship and won the battle because they fasted and they prayed. This has been the foundation of every success in every major society in the world today. Question: Some people say sir that we have been praying and there are many churches but, how come we still have problems? Answer: Firstly, National Prayers require a level of authority. Secondly, when we pray, how do we pray? Scattered prayers produce no result. We need unified prayers under the hand of a prophet, backed with revelation. The essence of prayer is that we talk to God for God to talk back to us. So, when we talked to God, what was his response? If we say we prayed, what instruction did we get from God? Every time these nations prayed to God on national issues, God gave them instructions, He gave them something to do. So, when we are praying haphazardly and we are not getting the national connection, or getting a word from God by the mouth of a prophet, how do we know what to do to bring to pass the will of God? Thus, we need a collaborated prayer system, where we all pray and believe in prophecy because prophecy is God speaking back to us. And, God is telling us what to do, and we act accordingly, and thus, the result comes. Question: There has been so much talk about signing a heavenly petition to the court of heaven, what is the ‘court of heaven’? Answer: We have courts. Every society today has a court system-a judicial system. Now, imagine heaven without a judicial system? Whatever we have on earth today, was copied from heaven. Heaven has a judicial system, it has courts, of different kinds. There are courts of kings where nations can appear and present their issues. I have talked about this in my book “COURTFARE”, you can get the book to know more about it. There are actually courts in heaven, I have been there and know how it operates. When you bring an issue before that court, the ruling from it can determine what will happen on earth. We see an example of that with Abraham when he stood before the courts of God, and he spoke to God about the nation and he was able to negotiate with God, regarding the nation. So, there are courts and petitions that can be made to these courts but on a different level when you deal with it nationally, it has to be cooperation. Question: Nigeria is on the verge of a transition yet again and there is so much expectation for positive change, do you think that 2023 will work for Nigeria for a change? Answer: There are three ways to execute a national change: Leadership Submission: When a leader of a nation submits the nation to a deity, we have seen in some societies how the leader makes sacrifices to a god and connected the nation to the god. If the leader of a nation submits the nation to God, then God can move in that nation to execute a change. National Participation: When people come together because of their voice and number they can petition heaven and move heaven to bring a change on their behalf. The Place of the Prophet: Also, there is the place of the Prophet that is why I say a nation without a prophet is in trouble. A prophet can use his honour with God just as we see with Moses. Moses was able to plead for Israel when he told the Lord not to destroy them and God changed His mind, the bible said: “God repented”. We also see the same with Abraham, Elijah, etc. I intend to use my connection with God in this regard, and so, based on that connection, I can assure you that there will be a change in this country. If others join us, it will be better, that means out of three ways, we will be using two ways, I use my connection and then national participation, calling on the Lord. With 2/3, we should be able to get something down. Question: The primary elections have been concluded, and now there is a call to fasting and prayer, don’t you think that even though the fasting and prayers is good, it is a little late? Answer: The problem with our Christianity today, is that we don’t know God, we don’t know Him at all. Someone says we are fasting and praying after primaries, it’s late, how can God be late? When Lazarus died, Jesus was still sitting down, he didn’t say he was late because Lazarus was dead, rather He said “I am the Resurrection and the Life”. He came after Lazarus had died, was embalmed, buried, put in a tomb, and shut in, then he called Him out and loosed him and let him go. So, God can never be late, the reason is, that He lives in eternity, and He can scroll forward and backward in time. He can make a way where there is no way, He has given us a date to fast, June 13th-19th 2022. In communicating with God, especially on national issues which are very judicial in nature spiritually, you have to know the window of the application. You don’t just apply whenever you like. The window is open to us between the 13th of and 19th of June. So, do not just pray every day haphazardly, you need to know when the window is open, and that is why you need a prophet. Question: What are your final words to Nigerians? Answer: Prayer is important but fasting amplifies prayer. Fasting is called humiliation before God, it humbles you. David said, “I humble myself by fasting”. So, fasting is humiliation. It is always very important when you want a national transformation because the people must humble themselves. Remember the prophet Jonah was sent to Nineveh and when he told them that destruction was coming upon their nation, the bible said the king and all the people poured sand on their heads and rubbed ashes on their bodies and fasted, and God said He will not destroy the nation anymore. He changed His mind about the nation because they fasted. So, there is power in fasting. When we fast we are telling God how serious and how sorry we are. We are humbling ourselves and we are saying we believe that He is the only one that can change our lives and our nation.
In my last words, I think we should do the following: Do not give up on the Nation. Get your PVCs and go out there to vote. But, I also want to state that we should not trust in PVC, because it has failed us several times, and your vote may not be counted. So, when you vote, ensure your vote is counted, do what you have to do to ensure your vote is counted. But, most importantly, ensure there are prayers for the Nation, backing up your vote. Put your trust in God. Finally, do not speak wrong words about the nation. Remember what the scriptures say “I will give you as you have said”. We must continue to bless our nation, and our leaders, and hope for the better. #june12fast #prayfornigeria #newnigeria #Nigeria #june12 #Prophetisaiahwealth

Celebrating Prophet Isiah Wealth: A Visioneer, Innovator and Mentor

Today, we celebrate Prophet Isaiah Wealth, a Visioneer and Innovator extraordinaire.

Prophet Isaiah Wealth is a man of great passion and hunger to reach the world with the true Gospel of the Lord Jesus. The unveiling of Afroawards 2022 plaque - Oduala Entertainment

In preparation for the next biggest award, Taiwo Oduala FOUNDER/CEO of Oduataj Entertainment/AFROAWARDS2022, Los Angeles has unveiled the Afroawards 2022 plaque.

The move which started quite some time back has already created waves, and lots of people are anticipating it.

The Afroawards 2022, as we all know is just like other events directed at developing, and impacting the world. The only difference is that this would be done in style.

This event would be a platform to recognize and reward outstanding personalities who have made it a duty to reach out to the world and help in the little ways they can. It would be an event where individuals would be recognized for their humanitarian services.

By humanitarian services, we mean, individuals who have contributed to the development of their various communities, cities, societies, states, etcetera.

Individuals who have aided in economic development in their states, and the country as a whole.

The event would see individuals who have passionately helped the less privileged achieve great things in life being recognized, and awarded for excellence.

Those who have also made it a duty to see the world change, albeit, in a positive way wouldn't be left out of the process either.

This upcoming big event is slated to take place in Los Angeles, California, the USA on the 29th of October, 2022. Of course, this would serve as the first edition of the event.

The slated date is a Saturday, and the event will kick off with a red carpet at 5pm, after which the award ceremony kicks off exactly 2 hours later, which is 7pm.

The expectations of the fans, and even the organizers are at the peak of it with a bit of nervousness. Many notable figures are expected to grace the event with their presence come 29th October.

The organizers are looking forward to seeing a successful end of the event, and of course, something that would leave you with a reason to be in attendance for subsequent events.

With different plans put in place, and invitations being sent out, hopefully, the atmosphere on that day will be life-transforming.

The event is for everyone, mediocre or not as some might think. The best thing that can happen to you in a while is being present at the 2022 Afroawards.

Come witness, come interact, come change your life.

The world is anticipating, the world is waiting for you. And we say Oduataj Entertainment to the world.

Interpol, Kenya Government Probe Two Nigerian Financial Tech Tycoons, Demuren, Nehikhare Over Suspicious Transfer Of N128 Billion From Nigeria

Interpol, Kenya Government Probe Two Nigerian Financial Tech Tycoons, Demuren, Nehikhare Over Suspicious Transfer Of N128 Billion From Nigeria

Two Nigerian Fintech tycoons, Eghosasere Nehikhare and Bukunmi Olufemi Demuren, and another Nigerian, are under probe in Kenya for a string of suspicious transfers of $221 million (N128 billion) from Nigeria.
In local currency, the money is worth Kenya Sh25 billion.

Nehikhare is the founder of Boltpay, while Demuren is the founder of Multigate Limited.
Interpol seeks to unravel the puzzle of Sh25bn ‘laundered’ from Nigeria, Kenya’s Nation Newspaper reports.
Investigations reveal that money was wired into Kenya from Nigeria between October and November 2020.
For more than two months, Kenyan authorities have been investigating the string of cash transfers from Nigeria without realising that they may hold the key to unlocking the whereabouts of Sh20 billion at the centre of local and international suspected money laundering rings.
A source privy to the matter has since confidentially disclosed that three Nigerians suspected to enjoy the backing of a powerful Kenyan politician and two Kenyans wired the cash in US dollars and Euros to Kenyan banks through multiple companies registered locally with shared ownership and suspect addresses.
Court papers indicate that the Assets Recovery Agency (ARA), which is investigating three companies over Sh5.6 billion — a quarter of the actual amount that entered Kenya — does not know the magnitude of its probe.
On April 5, ARA obtained court orders freezing Sh5.6 billion in six bank accounts, but its investigators are unaware that the network of firms and individuals had moved another Sh20 billion through local lenders in one month in 2020.
An ARA officer on Tuesday confirmed that the agency was only aware of the Sh5.6 billion frozen; it has no details of an Interpol investigation first revealed by Business Daily.

The local daily on Tuesday revealed that a network of six firms — OIT Africa, Avalon Offshore Logistics, RemX Capital Ltd, RemX Ltd, RemX Investment Partners and Multigate Ltd — moved Sh25.6 billion from Nigeria to Kenya before wiring some of the funds to countries in Europe and Asia.

Despite confirming that ARA has yet to interrogate shareholders of the companies, the officer insisted that its investigations are ongoing and could see some of the suspects charged with money laundering and other economic crimes.

The source of the funds has puzzled local and international sleuths, who are trying to find the origin.

The Nation established that Interpol’s investigation hit a brick wall, as it would need to cooperate with Kenyan and Nigerian authorities to determine when, how and why Sh25.6 billion was moved between the two countries.

Interpol, Kenya Government Probe Two Nigerian Financial Tech Tycoons, Demuren, Nehikhare Over Suspicious Transfer Of N128 Billion From Nigeria

The information sought by Interpol would require obtaining bank statements of all accounts where the suspect loot was stashed or moved from.
ARA’s lack of knowledge of the actual amount moved to Kenya in 2020 indicates that there is no cooperation with the agency and Interpol.

Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) boss George Kinoti did not respond to queries on whether his agency was investigating the suspected money laundering racket.

Two Nigerian financial technology tycoons with a history of using tax havens to avoid taxes are at the centre of investigations by ARA and Interpol. Boltpay founder Eghosasere Nehikhare and Multigate Limited founder Olubukunmi Olufemi Demuren could have started the global movement of billions from Lagos, ownership documents from the Companies’ Registry in Kenya show.

Mr Nehikhare is a graduate of the University of Oxford in the UK and is the CEO of Multigate Ltd, while Mr Demuren earned a chemical engineering degree from Cooper Union University in the US. Mr Demuren is the board chairman of Multigate Ltd.

Mutligate and RemX are among companies registered in Kenya, Dubai and Nigeria and which are at the heart of the money transfers.

So far, Kenyan authorities have traced and frozen Sh5.6 billion, pending conclusion of the investigations. The money is in six bank accounts owned by three companies.

However, investigators have so far frozen accounts of three firms — Avalon Offshore Logistics Limited, Oit Africa Limited and RemX Capital Limited. They are the owners of the accounts deposited with the money.

Two bank accounts of Avalon Offshore Logistics Limited held at Equity Bank are holding $374,630 (Sh43,408,490) and €3,824.66 (Sh472,809), suspected to be proceeds of crime.

OIT Africa’s three bank accounts held at Equity and United Bank for Africa (UBA) are holding a total of $41,715,444 (Sh4,833,568,496), while Remix’s account at UBA is holding $6,648,838 (Sh770,400,859).

ARA, in court papers, claims the money was wired to six accounts held at Equity Bank and United Bank of Africa (UBA).

Through Principal State Counsel Mohamed Adow, the agency says the amounts were a culmination of suspicious credits from various suspicious sources and conducted suspicious transfers and withdrawals.

ARA says that on February 11, it received information on suspected money laundering schemes and acquisition of proceeds of crime involving multiple cash transactions conducted through the bank accounts of the three companies.

The money was from a foreign country and the source has no legitimate explanation involving the companies and their agents.
“The companies are suspected to be part of a syndicate involved in a complex money-laundering scheme involving themselves and foreign nationals.

“The bank accounts of the companies are used as a conduit for complex money laundering,” says ARA.

The preservation order Justice Esther Maina issued bars the three firms, their employees, agents, servants or any other persons acting on their behalf from transacting, withdrawing, transferring or dealing in any manner howsoever with any profits or benefits derived or accrued from the funds.

A search at the Registrar of Companies revealed that RemX Capital directors are John Kisilu Kamusina and Evalyne Wawira Gachoki.

Avalon Offshore directors are Nigerians Jeffrey Nnaoma Michaels and Uduma Okoro Christopher Kalu.

OIT Africa directors are Vionnah Akoth Odongo and Kenneth Odongo Raminya. Multigate Limited directors are Olubunmi Akinbanjo Akinyemiju, Nehikhare Eghosasere and Demuren Olufemi Olukunmi.
